YCOM’s Continued Commitment to Sustainability
Sustainability is not a one-time project—it’s a commitment that requires continuous action. At YCOM, our goal is to lead the road to sustainability within the Motorsport industry while supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
We have long embraced sustainability through tangible investments:
- Ecovadis CSR Assessment – Silver Level (2019)
- Solar panel installation on YCOM’s headquarters (19,845kW nominal power).
- Advanced research with Bcomp, accelerating the use of natural fiber in motorsport components.
- Closed water circuit for our autoclave cooling system to minimize water waste.
- Full-scale recycling program, including wet and dry carbon fiber waste.
- Facility upgrades, from window replacements in 2016 (-35% energy consumption) to the full renovation of heating/cooling systems (2020-2021).
- ISO-9001:2015 (2017) & ISO-14001 (2022) certifications,

Another step towards Sustainability: 100% renewable energy
Building on these efforts, YCOM has now committed to sourcing 100% certified renewable electricity. Our solar panel system also continues to power a significant share of our energy consumption.

But sustainability is more than energy sourcing. It’s about understanding our carbon footprint and taking action to reduce it. We started to use GHG Protocol, to track:
- Scope 1 (direct emissions by stationary combustion and mobile combustion)
- Scope 2 (electricity use),
- Scope 3 (transportation, supply chain emissions, and embedded carbon in purchased materials).
By mapping our emissions, we make better decisions—from optimizing production facilities to choosing environmentally conscious suppliers.
At YCOM, we believe that sustainability in motorsport is not just a challenge—it’s an opportunity. Investing in energy efficiency, resource optimization, and carbon footprint reduction is how we contribute to a more responsible industry.
